Since surviving the 1960s, David Hiscoe has been a carpenter, a professor, a communications leader for corporations and universities, a writer, and a collector of vintage guitars and ragged cats. He lives in Chapel Hill, NC, where he often naps and dreams that his grandchildren lived closer to home.
In addition to his early thru-hike of the AT, he has hiked Vermont’s Long Trail from Massachusetts to Canada, the Walker’s Haute Route from Chamonix, France, to Zermatt, Switzerland, and the Tour du Mont Blanc through France, Switzerland, and Italy (twice). He and his dog are currently working through the Benton MacKaye Trail from North Carolina to Georgia.
David is a long-time trail maintainer and life member of the AT Conservancy, the Green Mountain Club, and the American Long Distance Hikers Association. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
